The Barrie Police Service has been in existence since 1853 and is proud to have the distinction of being the second oldest active police service in the Province of Ontario.  Like many other municipal Police Services the retiree group was largely informal.  That changed in 2021 when the active association recognised the need to support retired member and the Barrie Police Retiree Association was formed.
