Our Association is a network of former Ontario police employees promoting the mutual interests of police retirees across the province.
The Police Pensioners Association (PPAO) has been in existence since 1997. We serve by advocating and lobbying to maintain or enhance the quality of life of our members and encourage the collaboration of all police pensioners in Ontario.
Serving Those Who Have Served Our Communities.
Our Mission
The Police Pensioners Association of Ontario is a provincial organization dedicated to the fraternity of those who have served their communities. We serve by advocating and lobbying to maintain or enhance the quality of life of our members and encourage the collaboration of all police pensioners in Ontario.
Our Vision
To ensure retirement security and benefits to all our members.
Our Values
We are passionate about our members and value their service. These stand as the guidelines on how we advocate on their behalf.
Caring
We believe that all police pensioners should be treated with respect and dignity and advocate on their behalf.
Integrity
We engage in responsible decision-making that reflects the highest standards of conduct in all that we do on behalf of our membership.
Progressive
We value our collective history and strive for continuous quality of benefits, supporting the health, comfort and happiness of our members!
Our Purpose
Since 1997, the PPAO has grown to be Ontario’s leading voice on the issues having a direct impact on retired police personnel and their families.
As partners with national groups including the National Pensioners Federation (NPF) and Canadian Federation of Pensioners (CFP), we are actively involved with lobbying for changes with federal legislation on Pensions, Long Term Care issues and Aging with Dignity.
Provincially, we continually monitor changes within the Ontario Health System and provincial pension legislation. As a member of the OMERS Retiree Group (ORG), a triparty alliance which includes the Municipal Retirees Organization of Ontario (MROO) and the Ontario Retired Fire Fighters Association (ORFFA), we monitor and advise on strategies, funding, regulatory changes and investments relating to the OMERS pension fund. ORG is the only retiree group that holds a seat on both the OMERS Administration Corporation and Sponsors Corporation Board of Directors.
The PPAO encourages pensioners from both the public and private sectors in Ontario to visit our website and share their concerns and opinions with our membership.
Our Board Of Directors
Having been in service for more than a quarter of a century, the PPAO continues to grow forging ahead with new initiatives, keeping the quality of benefits and the supporting of health, comfort and happiness of our membership as our beacon. The PPAO is managed by a Board of Directors made up of members from around the province having a variety of experience with elections every 2 years.
